What is BLE? 
Bluetooth low energy (BLE) is a feature of Bluetooth 4.0 wireless radio technology, aimed at new, principally low-power and low-latency, applications for wireless devices within a short range (up to 50 metres / 160 feet -see table below). This facilitates a wide range of applications and smaller form factor devices in the healthcare, fitness, security and home entertainment industries.

What is the difference between Ssmart Adventurer and Ssmart Trainer? 
Ssmart Adventurer has additional built in sensors, namely, altimeters and barometers, to support multiple outdoors activities, e.g. hiking, fishing, etc.

Can I use Ssmart Trainer (SE900) for outdoor activities?
You can use the Ssmart Trainer for running and cycling and any activity based exercise. We recommend using the Ssmart Adventurer for hiking or other types of outdoor activities.

Can I use Ssmart in diving?
Smart is recommended for swimming primarily. We do not advise scuba diving or snorkeling for Ssmart.

How do I set up my watch for the first time?
Setting the watch couldn’t be easier, it can be set via the app of via the watch. Please note that the latest settings via the app would be counted over latest settings to the watch.

How many sports profiles can the watches store simultaneously? 
Up to three profiles at a time.

How many records are kept on each profile?
Up to 99 records can be kept on most profiles.

How many records can the watch store?
On specific profiles (such as running / cycling) the watch can store up to 99 laps or records. Each app may vary in its record taking ability and number of records taken.

How can I check whether the data storage is full or not on the watch?
The watch will update you automatically. When you enter the profile, if full you will know it will display the “Memory full” message and give you instructions as to whether you’d like to delete records or not.

Can I remove the preload sports profiles and upload profiles of other activities? 
Yes.

What happens to my records when I transfer new profiles?
When transferring new profiles, the app will automatically save your last saved data to the app before exchanging the profiles. (Beta version of the app coming soon for all apps)

When I update the profiles on the watch, will the memories be removed?
The memories on the watch will only be removed if you change the profiles. If you only update the memories, then the watch will maintain the records. Remember that all records will be backed up in the app at every exchange.

Can I download memories while updating the sports profiles at the same time?
Yes, this is done automatically at every profile exchange.

How does my watch calculate speed & distance?
The watch has built in motion sensor. It calculates based on your motion. For this, you should set your stride and user settings.

Can the speed & distance be referenced for indoor and outdoor usage?
Yes it can.

When the battery runs out, where can I replace it?
The battery door can be opened by using a coin. Use any standard coin to twist open the battery door and replace with a fresh CR2032 3V battery

How is the watch recharged?
We believe in being truly smart. As such our watch uses a coin cell battery, and is the only watch of its kind to do so that works with a smart device. Simply replace the battery using a coin to rotate the battery door and replace. The battery type is a CR2032 3V battery.

Is there any software for Ssmart that compatible with the PC?
Not yet… We believe the easiest way to share is via your personal mobile device.

How can I connect the BLE Chestbelt/ Bike pod with the Ssmart?
First download the APP. Then simply open the app and will automatically inform you whether you need to activate your Bluetooth settings for your device. If yes, a pop up message will guide you to your setting pages where you can select to switch ON your Bluetooth connection.

How many profiles can work with the BLE Chestbelt?
We provide our own app, but it also compatible with 3rd party app makers such as Map my run & run keeper.

Can both accessories (Chestbelt and Bike pod) connect to the watch at the same time?
Yes they can. In the cycling profile, both accessories can connect at the same time.

Can BLE Fabric chest belt (SZ999) and Bike Pod (AD262) be used with other BLE-enabled mobile devices?
Yes, check out the description of the device for any mention of “Bluetooth Smart” enabled. Any app which has this description is compatible with our chest belt or bike pod.

Can I use the chest belt alone without the watch?
Yes you can. You can download the OS Ssmart HRM app. Equally the chest belt works with many popular existing apps such as map my run / runkeeper and so on.

As the peripheral devices work with the smart phone, then why have a Ssmart Watch?
The beauty of the Ssmart product range, is no matter your preferences, we'll have something for you. Should you prefer only to run with your phone and see your real time data, then SZ999 is right for you. However, you may be the type of person, like the ones from our study that like to do different sports and activities and may not always have your smart phone around. If you are this type of person, then SE900 & RA900 will be the right monitors for you to follow you throughout your weekly and monthly exercise routines.

How can I download the sports apps? 
The apps are available from App Store (iOS version). Simply type “Ssmart Watch” on the search engine for fast searching.

I can't find the App?
Search Oregon Scientific or Ssmart. If on your ipad, you may need to touch the “iphone” search tab to find it. Alternatively, search any Oregon Scientific app and then touch the “related” and it will appear.

I’ve got the app but can’t download the profiles?
Click on the sink tab of the app. Select the 3 profiles you’d like to download. If not successful, it could be that Bluetooth needs to be activated on your device (please note it must be a compatible smart device). Equally, a message may appear saying that it has switched devices, and now recognizes your watch. In this case, reselect your chosen profiles and start again.

How can I share my records?
Download the latest version of app available. Simply click into your app, in the home page you will see your available profiles. Click to view memory, and an option for each memory record will appear to share that particular data. Click on the facebook button to share via your facebook account and show everyone your latest workout.

Where are my record stored?
All your records are stored on your mobile device and on the watch. Whenever you change the profiles, these memories won’t be lost, you’ll find them on your smart device.
